[noun]

[verb (used with object)]

To spread, as a report or rumor; disseminate (usually followed by about or abroad).

NOISE is dedicated to providing an independent platform for local, national, and international artists to showcase cutting edge work and ideas in contemporary art. In particular, we are interested in work that questions standard interpretations of image, material, perception, cultural criticism, and popular forms. We like experimental work and want to give it the best possible platform. Furthermore, we believe in NOISE as an accessible venue that makes fine art both relevant and available to our community.

Founded in 2016 by artists William Bass and Raphael Cornford, NOISE is an expanding collaboration. Bill and Raph bring a deep love of art, philosophy, photography, comic books, bookmaking, and all manner of print production with an eye for trans-media and exploratory work. Both Bill and Raph have shown nationally and internationally, published work, curated shows, and given artist talks across the country.

Both galleries are located in Bloomington IN. Pictured above is NOISE Downtown, which operated from May-December of 2017. NOISE Downtown is located at 103 N College, in a space adjacent to SHINE Insurance. In the gallery below is NOISE one, which opened in October of 2016. NOISE one is a converted garage space, lovingly re-purposed as a multimedia gallery space by Bill and Raph at 605 N Fairview St.
